RULES & OVERVIEW

Dates You Need To Know

  • Starts Monday, January 5 - Finish Friday, February 27

  • Weigh in Dates:

    • Pre - January 5 or 6

    • Mid - February 2 or 3 (Mid testing is for informational purposes only. No points will be awarded for these results.)

    • Final - February 25 or 26 

  • Gas House In Person Participants are able to use the Inbody as frequently as they like except for Fridays.

  • Results Announced Friday February 27th.

 

Point Breakdown - In Person Challengers

  • Body Fat Percentage - Participants will get 10 points for every percent they lose of body fat. (ex. -1.1% body fat = 11 Points, +1.1% body fat = 0 Points)

  • Muscle Mass Gain - Participants will get 10 points for every pound of muscle mass they gain. (ex. +1.1 pounds of muscle mass = 11 Points, -1.1 pounds of muscle = 0 Points)

  • NEW RULE THIS YEAR -  Under-Fueling Prevention: At the end of 8 weeks, participants who have lost 20 pounds or less will be awarded 10 points. Why? Because rapid weight loss often means extreme calorie restriction, dehydration, or under-fueling.This rule encourages safe fat loss, stable energy, and long-term habits.Maximum recommended sustainable loss = 2.5 lbs/week. Losing more than 20 lbs does not mean you’re disqualified, you just won’t earn the extra 10-point bonus.

  • Bring a Friend - Participants are encouraged to introduce a friend to Gas House Gym. If they bring a friend who has NEVER been to Gas House Gym, they will be award 5 Points. MAX 5 points.

  • Social Media Shoutout or Google Review - If participants submit a Google review or post a social media shout out for Gas House Gym, they will get 5 Points. MAX 5 Points. Make sure you tag Gas House Gym so we see it!

  • Attendance - Participants will be awarded points for attendance. Each visit is a point. MAX 24 Points, Averaging 3x per week.

  • Weekly Challenge - Each week there will be a performance challenge. Participants will get 3 points each week for posting their time on the scoreboard. Winners will get 3 points for being at the top of their division. Attempts for this challenge can only occur Monday-Thursday. Multiple attempts are acceptable.

    • Divisions (Division Reflects Age on January 1, 2026)

      • Men 43 and Older

      • Men Under 43

      • Women 43 & Older

      • Women Under 43

  • Body Scan Machine Requirements - Participants must be able to access an Inbody Machine. They must use that machine for the entirety of the challenge. If you live out of town, we can help you find one close to you. (Yes, you can use the Gas House InBody.)

  • Weekly Challenge - At the gym, there will be a performance challenge each week. You are welcome and encouraged to participate, but due to equipment differences for everyone there will be no points awarded for this. Something fun to challenge yourself with though!

 

Important Information for Remote Participants

  • All workouts will be posted on the TrainHeroic App

  • If you have a question on programming/modifications/equipment limitations, we ask you to address those questions 12 hours prior. So we have the chance to help you before you start your sessions. Please look and plan ahead.

  • We are going to write our programs assuming you have access to basic equipment. DB’s/KB’s, Barbell with Plates, Squat Rack, Pull-Up Bar, Bands, Bike or Treadmill, Medballs. If you have more, amazing. If you have less, we can get creative.

PRIZES

  • The participants in both in-person and remote with the most points will be named the winners.

  • In-Person

    • 1st Place will be awarded $700 Cash OR 5 Months Comped Membership at Gas House Gym

    • 2nd place & 3rd Place will be award 1 Month Comped Membership at Gas House Gym

  • Remote

    • First Place will be awarded $300 Cash

  3. Rower - 1,000/750 (Men/Women) Meters for Time

  4. Quarter Mile Run - For Time (Woodyway Treadmill Only)

  5. Push-Ups - Most Reps

  6. Plate Pinch Hold - For Max Time (Men 45's / Women 25's)

  7. Ski Erg - 1,000/750 (Men/Women) Meters For Time

  8. Half Mile Run - For Time (Woodway Treadmill Only)

Welcome to our favorite event of the year!

Our hope is you're looking at 2026 and thinking, "I'm going to have a great year." ​Hopefully you're thinking even bigger and saying, "I'm going to have the best year yet."

Our results over the past 3 years of running this challenge have been nothing short of amazing. A lot of credit is due to the community holding each other accountable... although the extra motivation of winning some cash never hurts either.

 

If fitness is part of that recipe for best year ever, we are setting up the best 8 weeks to get you started on the right foot. Here are some stats for you that are available with one google search. 31% of people who make a New Years Resolutions don't make it 8 weeks and 92% of them don't make it the full year. If this is the year that you make a plan and execute, join us in making the first 8-weeks the best they can be. We will help you attack!
